Domestic & Family Violence: Keeping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families safe, connected and strong.
How can current policy and practices protect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people from family violence without placing responsibility on survivors responding to the violence?
The theme will explore the intersection of domestic and family violence, child protection, housing, health, policing, legal services and Aboriginal community-controlled supports. The forum aims to highlight strategies and initiatives both at the National and State level that are shaping the response to what it will take to meet Closing the Gap Targets 12.
About this gathering
At the November 2026 Quarterly Sector Forum, we’ll be gathering on Gadigal lands, and we acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of these lands.
This is more than just a gathering – it’s a chance to connect, learn, and drive meaningful action alongside sector leaders, advocates, and community members. This gathering will reinforce the importance of having Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices front and centre.
Meals provided: Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided on Day 1, with morning tea and lunch provided on Day 2 to ensure everyone is well-fueled for meaningful discussions.
