Whether you’re part of a formal organisation or a grassroots movement, we want to support your efforts to keep our families safe and connected.

Who should apply?
This call goes out to everyone involved in supporting Aboriginal communities—whether it’s through cultural programs, education, advocacy, or holistic support services. Your work is vital in building stronger, more resilient communities.
- Gain statewide recognition for your innovative programs.
- Share your insights, successes, and learnings with the sector.
- Strengthen partnerships across government, NGOs, and ACCOs.
- Contribute to sector-wide knowledge on best practices in Aboriginal early intervention.
- Be featured in video interviews, case studies, and promotional materials.
We’re particularly looking for programs focused on:

Early Childhood Development
supporting children under 5 with culturally appropriate programs

Family Strengthening and Preservation
Preventing child protection intervention through family capacity building

Culturally-Tailored Approaches
Incorporating Aboriginal knowledge, practices, and community connections

Community-Led Innovation
Designed and led by Aboriginal communities for Aboriginal communities

How we select Deadly Practices
The selection panel will review EOIs based on the following key criteria:
Alignment with focus areas
Does the program address the identified priorities?
Innovation and uniqueness
How does the program stand out in its approach?
Community and cultural impact
What difference is it making for Aboriginal children, families, and communities?
Media and promotional readiness
Are you prepared to share your story through interviews, case studies, and video?
Successful EOIs will be contacted by AbSec’s Policy & Advocacy Team and will work alongside our Communications Team to develop compelling content for the ‘Deadly Practice’ promotional series. This may include:
- Written case studies showcasing your impact
- Video features bringing your story to life
- Promotional materials to amplify your work
