Carers’ Day Out – Kangaroo Screening

Enjoy a private screening of Kangaroo, along with a snack popcorn and drink, as a small token of our gratitude!
28 October , 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

HOYTS Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park

AbSec knows that carers play a vital role in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people — providing love, stability and support for our children’s connection to culture and to their families every single day. We want to give you time to pause, relax, and connect with other carers.

This private screening of Kangaroo, along with a snack popcorn and drink, is a small token of our gratitude. It offers the chance to enjoy a fun outing — because caring for others deserves to be celebrated too.

Directed by Kate Wood, Kangaroo is a heart-warming adventure-comedy that follows ex-TV personality Chris Masterman (Ryan Corr), who finds himself stranded in an outback town near Alice Springs. There, he forms an unexpected friendship with 12-year-old Aboriginal girl Charlie (Lily Whiteley), as they work together to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned joeys.

  • Cast: Ryan Corr, Lily Whiteley, Deborah Mailman, Wayne Blair, Rachel House, Brooke Satchwell, Roy Billing, Ernie Dingo, Clarence Ryan, Ryan Clark, Rarriwuy Hick.
