2025 AbSec Annual General Meeting
Murrook Culture Centre
Following the wrap-up of our November Quarterly Sector Forum, we invite all Identified members to attend AbSec’s 2025 Annual General Meeting.
Whether you join us onsite at the beautiful Murrook Culture Centre or online via Microsoft Teams, your attendance and participation are vital to ensuring AbSec continues to deliver strong, culturally grounded leadership across NSW. Every voice at the table makes us stronger, and your participation ensures that Aboriginal families and communities are represented in the work we do.
Please note, only members within the following categories may attend: Category A – Identified Organisation, Category B – Identified Individual.
The AGM is your opportunity to:
- Hear directly from our Chairperson and CEO on the year’s highlights and challenges.
- Review and accept AbSec’s 2024–2025 Annual Report and Financial Report.
- Elect our directors who oversee and guide AbSec strategy and governance.
- Ask questions directly to our Board, CEO, and Auditor.
- Strengthen your voice in the governance of AbSec.
Board Director nominations
We’re calling for strong, passionate voices to step forward and help guide our organisation into the future.
During this session, two Board Director positions will become available. We’re inviting nominations from members who are committed to strengthening Aboriginal families, protecting our children, and building a culturally strong and connected future.
Becoming a Director of AbSec means you’ll ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and carers are represented at the highest level, whilst contributing to policies and systems that drive real change. Not only will you uphold a commitment to the rights of mob, but you’ll also protect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing.
If you have experience in governance, leadership, or advocacy (or a willingness to grow in these areas), with strong cultural connections, we want to hear from you! Nominations close 5:00PM AEDT, Wednesday, 5 November 2025.
You will need to register your attendance by 5:00 PM (AEDT) on Wednesday, 5 November 2025.
