We’re proud to be bringing the Inner West’s biggest NAIDOC celebration back to Marrickville PCYC and Steel Park on Wednesday 9 July marking 50 years of NAIDOC Week with a vibrant day of culture, community and connection.
With more than 2,000 attendees last year, we’re planning to make it even bigger —because celebrating culture, especially with our children and young people front and centre, is at the heart of everything we do.
Here’s just some of the highlights you can look forward to:
Stalls from local artisans and businesses
50+ stalls showcasing Aboriginal arts, crafts and community services, and serving up lots of free food! Enjoy powerful stories, friendly yarns, and creative brilliance.
Live performances and entertainment
Headliner performances acts such as Dream Big Australia and Burrundi Theatre for Performing Arts, inspiring performances showcasing Aboriginal storytelling and talent.
Art and craft workshops for all ages
Kids’ activities galore, including a petting zoo, jumping castle, hair braiding, face painting and more!
Food and fun activities for the whole family
All day music and dance by talented local artists and community members sharing sounds and rhythms that speak to Country, culture, and celebration.
But beyond the fun and festivities, AbSec’s NAIDOC Family Fun Day is a chance to walk together, learn from each other, and honour the stories that shape us.
This year’s NAIDOC Week theme: “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy” is a call to action. It’s about celebrating those who came before, nurturing those growing up now, and protecting the legacies we’ll pass forward. It’s a day to remind us all: thriving starts with connection.
Everyone is welcome—mob, allies, friends and neighbours. Whether you come every year or are joining us for the first time, we invite you to share in the pride of the world’s oldest living culture.
Don’t miss out—register now and join us for a day of joy, pride and community.
