Building Bridges: Collaboration for Community Impact

‘Building Bridges’ captures the essence of cross-sector collaboration. This Sector Forum’s theme encourages the coming together of diverse perspectives—from government agencies to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities—to address the complex challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families. By working together, we can create innovative, impactful solutions that lead to positive change.

 

About this gathering

The August 2025 Quarterly Sector Forum, held on traditional land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, is more than just a gathering—it’s a chance to connect, learn, and drive meaningful action alongside sector leaders, advocates, and community members. This gathering will reinforce the importance of having Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices front and centre. 

Meals provided: Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea will be served each day to ensure everyone is well-fuelled for meaningful discussions.

Exclusive to Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) and community members for culturally safe, in-depth conversations.

End Day One with a relaxed networking event to foster deeper connections within our community.   Day Two will conclude with an open forum for ACCOs and community members to share insights and coordinate efforts for a collective impact.

Day One is open to all stakeholders, including carers, government representatives, and partner organisations.
Day Two is exclusively for Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) and mob to ensure culturally safe and focused discussions.

Will food be provided?
Yes! Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea will be provided on both days.

Is registration free?
Yes, registration is free, but spaces are limited, so secure your spot early.

What should I bring to the event?
We suggest bringing items such as notepads, business cards, cultural items for sharing or display, and recommend comfortable clothing suitable for the venue.

What is the policy on photos and videos during the event?
AbSec may use the images and videos captured during the event for various proposes, including but not limited to advertising, social media, websites and other promotional materials. This material may be made available to the public and there will be no compensation, financial or otherwise, for the use of these images and video.
